Concrete Leveling in Woodstock, GA
Lift the slab for about a third of replacement — or find out honestly that yours is past lifting. We do both, so we have no reason to push you either way.
Most contractors who quote a sunken driveway only sell one of the two answers, so you get the answer they sell. We do demolition and replacement as well as leveling, which means we can tell you which one your slab actually needs. Call (888) 376-0955 for a free assessment across Woodstock and Cherokee County.
Been told you need a full replacement?
Worth a second look. Plenty of slabs quoted for demolition are perfectly liftable.
Lift or Replace: How the Decision Is Actually Made
| What you have | Right answer | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Dropped, but concrete is sound | Lift | A third of the cost, hours not days, no cure time |
| Dropped, one or two clean cracks | Lift, then seal | Cracks from spanning the void often close as it comes back up |
| Full-depth cracks in several places | Replace | Lifting gives you a level slab that's still failing |
| Surface spalling, losing aggregate | Replace | Structure may be fine but the wearing surface is gone |
| Sunk repeatedly after previous lifts | Base reconstruction | The problem is the ground, not the slab or the filler |
Notice what isn't in that table: how old the slab is, and how far it has sunk. Neither decides it. A 45-year-old driveway that has dropped two inches but is structurally intact lifts perfectly. A twelve-year-old one that is map-cracked across its area does not.
The Question to Ask Before Agreeing to Replacement
If a contractor recommends demolition, ask what they are doing about the ground. This matters more in Cherokee County than almost anywhere, because so much local housing sits on graded fill that is still consolidating years after the house was finished.
Pour a new slab onto that same fill and it will settle exactly as the last one did — you will have paid replacement prices for a temporary result. A replacement is only durable when the base is properly reconstructed as part of the job, and that work should be itemised on the quote. If it isn't there, the quote is for a slab, not for a solution.
Cost Either Way
Lifting: $3–$8 per square foot. Walkway panel $300–$600, sunken driveway section $400–$1,600, full two-car driveway $1,200–$4,500, garage floor $1,200–$4,000 (foam only, indoors).
Demolition and replacement: $8–$15 per square foot in Cherokee County, of which $1–$2 is breaking out and hauling the old concrete away. A 500 square foot driveway is roughly $1,500–$4,000 lifted against $4,000–$7,500 replaced.
Garage Floors and Interior Slabs
Interior work is foam only. It injects through 5/8 inch ports, cures in roughly 15 minutes, adds almost no weight and produces no wet spoil to carry back out through the building. A garage floor that has dropped away from the foundation wall is a half-day job and the space is usable again immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know whether to lift or replace?
Structural integrity decides it, not age or how far it sank. Sound slab that dropped: lift. Full-depth cracking or surface failure: replace.
What does each option cost in Woodstock?
$3–$8 per square foot to lift, $8–$15 to demolish and replace. A 500 sq ft driveway: $1,500–$4,000 versus $4,000–$7,500.
Will a replacement slab just sink again?
Yes, if the base isn't reconstructed. On Cherokee County fill that's the decisive question — make sure base work is itemised on any replacement quote.
Can a garage floor be leveled?
Yes — polyurethane foam, indoors, about half a day, no wet spoil.
Do I need a permit in Woodstock?
Not for leveling — it's repair. A replacement driveway or structural slab over the threshold does need one, and we handle it.
